With a desire to grow phytoplankton as a new industry, Dave spent nearly a decade collaborating with algae farmers and scientists, working to make phytoplankton safe and sustainable for human nutrition. A pharmaceutical-grade facility in Cádiz, Spain, was built ensuring unmatched purity and sustainability.

Named in honor of his late mother, a dedicated nurse, the first commercial phytoplankton product was introduced. Within a year, it was stocked in over 180 pharmacies and later reached Costco shelves. Karen Phytoplankton sold to hundreds of thousands of Canadians.
